Phil Billingham
In October 2007 Phil was elected to the Board of the Institute of Financial Planning (IFP). Phil joined the Financial Services profession in 1982, moving into sales management and subsequently training. In 1995 – 1996 he lived and studied in San Francisco, USA. During this time he worked with the national Association of Personal Financial Planners (NAPFA), and the Curriculum Board of California. He has since written and spoken about the shape and role of Regulation in the United States. Moving back to the UK, in 1999 he became a Director and subsequently Vice-Chairman of the Society of Financial Advisers (SOFA). Phil is a well known speaker and writer on Financial Services regulation and Phil has also spoken at the UK Institute of Financial Planning conference in 1999, and was a speaker at the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) conference in Anaheim, USA, in 2004. In 2004, the ‘Professional Adviser’ newspaper voted him in the top 50 most influential IFAs in the UK. Contact Phil

Shannon Currie
Shannon is a Director of Perception Support, where her role focuses on engineering risk out of Financial Adviser’s advice processes, this has meant on occasions launching in-house OEICs, establishment of and chairing internal Investment Committees, helping firms change their business models to slicker and more cost efficient Advice process, providing locum services for Discretionary businesses, as well as building value in businesses in preparation for sale or exit by business owners. Prior to this Shannon worked in the Discretionary Management arena for 11 years as Investment Director in the Financial Services arm of a major Accountancy firm. Her role was the Discretionary Management of investment portfolios for a number of Private Clients, Trusts, Charities and Companies. Shannon’s experience included the day to day management of client portfolios, handling client monies, safe custody of assets, and the use of a nominee for holding client assets with a particular focus on the effective use of technology in this environment. Shannon designed the Supervisory scheme for the Discretionary Managers for this firm and was the Supervisor for the CF27s (Discretionary Control Function) in the firm. In addition her responsibilities extended to the technical fund research and selection process, and she was involved in setting the house view on asset allocation for client portfolios, together with the selection of appropriate funds across all asset classes for the firm nationally. Phil is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and a Chartered Financial Planner.
Shannon is a Certified Financial Planner and holds the CII's Advanced Financial Planning Certificate (Dip PFS), in addition to the UK Society of Investment Professionals’ 'Investment Management Certificate' (IMC).
